THEE HOLY BROTHERS SET PASSOVER FOR RE-RELEASE OF DEBUT CONCEPT ALBUM MY NAME IS SPARKLE WITH BONUS TRACK JUST IN TIME FOR SEDER

American Songwriter Magazine Calls Title Track  “A Miracle of a Song” from Duo of Singer-songwriter Marvin Etzioni (aka Buddy Holy, ex-Lone Justice) & Willie Aron (aka Johnny B. Holy, ex-The Balancing Act)

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

LOS ANGELES, CA (THURSDAY FEBRUARY 4, 2021) – Los Angeles power duo Thee Holy Brothers announced today that their debut concept album, My Name is Sparkle (Regional Records via Six Degrees Records) is set for re-release the day-before Passover on Friday March 26, just in time for seder. Think of it as the unleavened musical experience of a lifetime.

Founded by singer-songwriter Marvin Etzioni (aka Buddy Holy, ex-Lone Justice) and Willie Aron (aka Johnny B. Holy, ex-The Balancing Act), Thee Holy Brothers have fashioned an impressive, ambitious concept album. The Coachella Valley Weekly says the album “echoes devotional touchstones like George Harrison’s All Things Must Pass and Pete Townshend’s Who Came First.” Mojo calls it a “Tommy-esque musical directed by Leonard Cohen.” RnR in the UK gives the album five stars calling it “quite magnificent.”

Track listing is as follows:

Act One

  1. Elvis in Jerusalem
  2. My Name Is Sparkle
  3. Woman Need Man, Man Need Woman
  4. If God Let Go
  5. A Sudden Gunshot

Act Two

  1. Let the Great World Spin
  2. Glad It’s Gonna Rain
  3. Divine Love
  4. Keep Crushing Me
  5. The End of Suffering (bonus track)

My Name is Sparkle is a ten-song concept album for the (Rock of) ages. Both out of time and for our time, androgynous protagonist Sparkle finds himself/herself on a quest to find God in the Holy Land, Jerusalem. There, Sparkle finds Elvis, not God. After much soul searching, Sparkle ultimately learns that it’s up to all of us individually to move forward on our own terms and endure our own great troubles.

In addition to the full-length album, Thee Holy Brothers have just released a stand-alone single “Lift You Up” in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr.’s Day and Black History Month. The stand-alone track features Stephon Ferguson as the voice of MLK. The accompanying video, by award winning director Fr3der1cK, premiered exclusively via the HITS Magazine website.

For the unenlightened, Marvin Etzioni is a singer, Grammy-nominated songwriter, Grammy-winning record producer, collaborating with such iconic artists as Counting Crows, Dixie Chicks, Stephen Stills/Judy Collins and many others. Willie Aron has emerged as an award-winning composer of film and television shows and is a session musician/producer for the likes of Victoria Williams, Syd Straw, Peter Himmelman and Rickie Lee Jones. Willie portrays a member of the famed Wrecking Crew in the biopic Love and Mercy about Beach Boys founder Brian Wilson.
