FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
LOS ANGELES, CA (MONDAY NOVEMBER 2, 2026) – Los Angeles duo LoveyDove, announced today the release of their fourth full-length album, Light It Up! out today on vinyl, DSPs and Bandcamp. The new album comes hot on the heels of the band’s first single “You Got to be Kidding!”
On their new album, Light It Up!, LoveyDove channel their eclectic musical backgrounds into a colorful, energetic collection of genre-bending songs. Yet, beneath the album’s infectious hooks and playful arrangements lies a serious engagement with the political turmoil, social injustice, and general unease of living in today’s America. The pointed “You Got to Be Kidding!” confronts the state of the world head-on, while the anthemic “PTT (Presenting the Truth)” features some words of wisdom from LoveyDove friend, the legendary entertainer Dick Van Dyke. Elsewhere, “Move Me” delivers a burst of high-energy garage rock. Throughout Light It Up!, LoveyDove balance frustration with optimism, using humor, imagination, and exuberant pop songwriting to find moments of joy and possibility amid the chaos.
Lyrically taking more than a few cues from the current state of an unsettling world, Light It Up! lightens up the mixed up muddled up mood with LoveyDove’s effervescent sonic sound collage. You might find yourself in a place wrestling on the dark side, but allow this uplifting platter to spin you in the opposite direction. The duality of the dilapidated state of the planet juxtaposed with more hooks than a fisherman’s tacklebox come alive on this sizzling disc.
To celebrate, LoveyDove have also confirmed two record release shows, on both the east and west coasts later this month on November 19 in New York City at BScene (with special guests John S. Hall & Moss Cathedral) and November 24 at Sun Space in Los Angeles on November 24.
