Cambodian and American Rock Band Continue Cultural Mashups on Black Friday Record Store Day 7” Vinyl Collaboration w/ Korea’s Goonam


LOS ANGELES, CA (THURSDAY NOVEMBER 10, 2016) – Los Angeles based Cambodian and American rock band DENGUE FEVER (, today confirmed a month long tour in Spring 2017 with Grammy Awardwinning group of Tuareg musicians Tinariwen plus headlining dates beginning on March 30 at the Belly Up in San Diego. 

Dengue Fever continue also their cultural cross pollination with their first Record Store Day release since 2009 with an exclusive 7” single on Black Friday with Korea’s Goonam. This limited edition, colored vinyl two-track single of “Ganadaramaba” b/w “Integratron” also featurse a download card for an additional bonus track. Dengue Fever released their latest album The Deepest Lake on their own label, Tuk Tuk Records in 2015 and received overwhelming response in the press from a variety of publications. These include Mojo, Uncut, LA Weekly, NME, NPR, Q, LA Weekly, All Music, Culture Collide and many more. Known for their exotic blend of Cambodian rock, Afro grooves, surf, and garage psych, DENGUE FEVER have done extensive touring across the United States, Paris, England, Russia, Cambodia, Istanbul and Scandinavia within the last two years. 

They are currently working on new material and planning a series of reissues of their back catalog for Tuk Tuk Records that will be announced early next year.


DENGUE FEVER is Cambodian songstress Chhom Nimol, Zac Holtzman (guitar/vocals), Ethan Holtzman (keyboards), Senon Williams (bass), Paul Smith (drums) and David Ralicke (horns). They have released five albums, Dengue Fever, Escape From Dragon House, Venus On Earth, Cannibal Courtship, In The Ley Lines, the DVD/CD soundtrack to the band’s documentary, Sleepwalking Through The Mekong, a collection of lost Cambodian classics, Dengue Fever Presents: Electric Cambodia and in 2015 The Deepest Lake. They are based in Los Angeles.
