LOS ANGELES, CA (NOVEMBER 30, 2023) – New Wave trailblazer and founding DEVO member Gerald V. Casale is making waves again with the debut of his new cutting edge “4-Dimensional” music video for “Lounge: Pay U Back”. The track is available from a new reissue of his The Invisible Man EP which is now available direct from GeraldVCasale.com & can be viewed here.
Known for his innovative music videos with Devo, Foo Fighters, and Soundgarden, Casale’s new music video for “Lounge: Pay U Back” was not shot on film, and it’s not traditional video. Instead, Casale teamed up with 4D Fun Studios, using 4Dviews’ proprietary volumetric capture system’, utilizing 32 digital scanning cameras, instantaneously transforming reality into 360° virtual CG. Don’t call it a remix — the soundtrack is a laidback ‘Lounge’ style cover version of Casale’s own song, “I’m Gonna Pay U Back” — and it’s Casale’s first collaboration with Josh Freese since becoming the new FOO FIGHTERS drummer. Also featuring Steve Bartek, the lead guitarist of OINGO BOINGO — all three musicians are represented as digital avatars within the 4-Dimensional nether lounge alternate reality.
Originally a Record Store Day ‘first’ exclusive, the initial EP pressing sold-out immediately. Now, for the first time, the crystal clear 12-inch ‘invisible’ vinyl is available with autograph options from GeraldVCasale.com, and is also available on CD and cassette – Casale’s first in 30 years.
