LOS ANGELES, CA (WEDNESDAY MARCH 18, 2026) – Amon Tobin’s Nomark record label is delighted to announce the release of the debut, four-track Aphant EP by Furii which is out now via all DSPs and are exclusive to this EP. From the seductive opening chords of “Hypnagog,” through the playfulness of “Polyphon”, with Jo Spratley’s vocals adding further layers of perfectly imperfect beauty, there is something very familiar about the four tracks that make up the Aphant EP, and so much that is unfamiliar.
“Oystershell”’s extraordinary piano flourishes and cymbal crashing rhythms are both soothing and satisfyingly disconcerting and “Narcolept” is rich with entwined melodies in a delicate danse macabre.
As Adrien says “Don’t worry if it takes forever and you’re not sure if you’re seeing it right.”
It’s been a goodly while since Nomark Records released a record out into the world. Last summer’s Nomark Selects V.2, a collection of previously unreleased tracks by Amon Tobin, Two Fingers and Cujo, was a welcome serving of Tobin’s electronic magic. As Electronic Sound magazine put it, “All moments of buried treasure…Heavyweight beats, snarling electronics and Mellotron-style hooks pack an arresting punch.”
Prior to that it was October 2024 when Nomark released “ILK” the debut single from Furii. the first signing to the label. Previously, Nomark had only released Tobin’s work under various aliases and collaborations with other artists.
“ILK” was a triumph. A lullaby as cosy as cotton wool embrace, if that cotton wool was dipped in lavender and laudanum, as soothing as it was disconcerting, with vocals supplied by Jo Spratley. Adrien said at the time, “Jo Spratley has kindly lent her beautiful voice and words for this tune. I was after a witchy lullaby vibe and I certainly got plenty of it.”
