LOS ANGELES, CA. (THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 12, 2024) – Critically acclaimed Los Angeles based duo  Annabel (lee) announced today that they will release the song “If You Show Me (Alice),” a new single and video from their forthcoming album, If I Align with The Moon and Sun, across all DSPs and social media tomorrow. Magnet Magazine exclusively premiered the video yesterday.

The new eye-popping music video re-visits Alice in Wonderland through the post-traumatic, giallo-style flashback of an adult Alice as she runs from her demons in search of true love. The video is directed by Tyler Hubby (Tony Conrad: Completely In The Present) and features Darenzia Elizabeth as Alice, David J (Bauhaus/Love and Rockets) as the Mad Hatter and Donnie Darko’s James Duval (Frank The Rabbit) as the White Rabbit.

“With an entire production set in place on one scorching day in Downtown L.A., Annabel (lee) prepared for the unexpected!,” said Annebel(lee)’s Sheila B. Ellis. “The otherworldly venue, Cakeland, was mere days away from permanently closing, but the universe knew the timing was perfect. A cast of characters commenced, aptly suited for a haunting fairytale where dreams… and nightmares… come true! ”

This is the first single from the band’s highly anticipated third album If I Align with The Moon and Sun and mines similar musical territory to that of husband and wife Sheila B. Ellis and Richard E.’s critically praised output. Combining classical with folk and jazz, their ethereal music has been featured on the airwaves of prominent Los Angeles radio stations KCRW and KPFK (where they were featured artists), as well as BBC Radio 3 in the U.K. Additionally, they were the first Artist Of The Month for Giant Steps, winners of the 2015 UK’s Dead Albatross Music Prize (chosen from over 700 UK & Eire releases by over 100 judges), their music has been featured for exhibition at the Tate Modern and as Cover Artist for Bandcamp Weekly.

Prior recorded works from Annabel (lee) include albums By The Sea and Other Solitary Places (Ninja Tune, 2015) and The Cleansing (Youngbloods, 2017), two EP’s entitled I Came Across A Dreamer and From This Side (both on Youngbloods), along with a bonus Annabel (lee) Live Covers.
