LOS ANGELES, CA (JUNE 19 2018) – Once Upon A Canyon Night, TreePeople’s summer entertainment series, will present evenings under the stars again this summer – its “Sweet 16th” season.
Consistently named one of Los Angeles’ best-kept secrets, Once Upon A Canyon Night is a summertime treat for Angelenos looking for culturally diverse arts, music and children’s entertainment. Live music, comedy and theatre grace a charming stage in the woods on select weekend nights from July 22 through September 22.
TreePeople is an organization that unites the power of trees, people, and nature-based solutions to grow a more climate-ready Los Angeles. All season proceeds from the series directly benefit the maintenance and care of TreePeople’s beautiful 45-acre Coldwater Canyon Park.
This year, TreePeople is proud to kick off the series July 22 with a surprise opening night guest (a returning favorite, this comedian has supported TreePeople throughout the years). A VIP (Very Important Park) Party will precede the opening performance
The season continues with great stand-up comedy from Maz Jobrani, vocalist Billy Valentine, a radio play double feature of Casablanca and The Thin Man, Gore Vidal’s Weekend, a family fun night of magic and juggling from Dana Daniels and Michael Rayner, music from The Lao Tizer Quartet, L’équipe Tambora and Louden Swain, a movie screening of the new release A Midsummer’s Night’s Dream (2018) and a return of the iconic comedy Airplane! The Reading!! with Robert Forster and much more. Additional events will be announced shortly.
The summer series is nestled in the woods and under the stars in TreePeople’s beautiful S. Mark Taper Foundation Amphitheatre in the wonderful 45-acre Coldwater Canyon Park, at the intersection of Coldwater Canyon and Mulholland Drive. Seating capacity at the intimate venue is 260, and it features on-site parking and access for the differently-abled, all concealed in the intimate rolling hills overlooking the San Fernando Valley. Patrons may pack a picnic dinner and wine or beer to enjoy in the venue before the show, just like ‘a miniature Hollywood Bowl.’
Location: S. Mark Taper Foundation Amphitheatre, Coldwater Canyon Park, 12601 Mulholland Drive, Beverly Hills 90210.
