First of Two Albums Out Now for Metropole Remix Project

LOS ANGELES, CA (FEBRUARY15th, 2024)  – February is all about the remixes of Metropole, the hauntingly beautiful song from Amon Tobin’s Stone Giants West Coast Love Stories album, and today Nomark are releasing Metropole Remixes Vol.1, the first of two albums featuring nine very different takes on a song which veer from the seductive to the unsettling.

As Amon says “Towards the end of last year we opened up stems on my discord for anyone to remix “Metropole.” We ended up with over 60 reinterpretations from pros and amateurs alike. We had so much talent rise up out of nowhere for this that we decided to compile and release a selection of the mixes officially.”

Volume 1 contains an extraordinary range of visions. From The Bright Dark’s joyous opening mix, through Dontmesswithjuan’s dark lullaby and Veilgaze’s deliciously minimalist and warped take, the surreal sits alongside the celebratory.

Mud Kisser (alter ego of Thys from Noisia) gives us an ominous Morricone-like soundtrack and Rex Kalibur delivers a heady discordant tension as beats attempt a break out.

Along with two distinct and triumphant mixes from hellomynameisjoe turning Metropole’s electronic heart into an alt-rock anthem, an intoxicatingly trippy version from Herzihelmut and Fearful’s enticing drum and bass take, The Metropole Remixes Vol.1 is a fascinating journey into the possibilities of interpretation and sound.
