Divine Weeks LA Record Release Show Confirmed for Feb. 2! Is this their last ever?
Friends,
LA’s seminal indie guitar band Divine Weeks confirmed their record release show for their final album We’re All We Have as a benefit for WISH Inclusive Public Schools on February 2 with The Praties & DJ Mick DiMaria at BeatBox Studios (11828 Teale St., Culver City Ca 90230) at 7pm. Tix available at the door.
Variety called We’re All We Have one of 2018’s 10 best releases. “An unabashedly — yet never obviously political — cycle of songs about showing love in the face of darkness, the album might be alternately titled “Songs to Survive the Current Administration By.” – Chris Morris, Variety. https://variety.com/2018/music/opinion/10-best-albums-of-2018-chris-morris-1203089328
This album will wrap up the bands three-decade long legacy of ups and downs which include signing to Steve Wynn’s Down There Record Label (with the Dream Syndicate’s Dennis Duck on drums) for their critically acclaimed debut in 1987, a 2nd album that was released the same day as Nirvana’s Nevermind, a 25 year hiatus, followed by front man Bill See’s 2011 memoir 33 Days, and 2016’s See Those Landing Lights reunion.
Their final incendiary statement calls for love, redemption and being on the left side of history in Trump’s America and features a powerful final single “Fight For Love”
