LOS ANGELES, CA. (TUESDAY NOVEMBER 4, 2025) – All-girl Los Angeles high school band, Kim Theory announced today that their debut recording, the 4-song EP Bitch Scene will be released digitally on Friday November 14. Fans can stream or download Bitch Scene via their Bandcamp page here.
Recorded by Paul Roessler (Screamers, DC3, 45 Grave, Twisted Roots) at his Kitten Robot Studios in Los Angeles, Kim Theory are a mix of indie rock music with riot girrrrl and pop punk influences. They are Audrey Cymone (vocals), Lula Seifert (guitar), Lucy Fraser (bass) and Zoey Su (drums.) And their name? It’s a reference to musicians/heroes Kim Gordon, Kim Shattuck and Kim Deal.
To celebrate the release of their debut recording, the band are throwing a record release party on Saturday November 15 at Backyard Party, an all-ages music and event venue in Pasadena (1260 Lincoln Ave #1300, Pasadena, CA 91103) from 7pm-10pm. Backyard Party is part of Altadena Musicians & Instrumental Giving, a registry app where musicians can list the gear they lost in the LA fires – and donors can help to replace them through gifting or purchasing directly.
While only performing together as a band for a little more than a year, Kim Theory has made a name for themselves as part of the indie LA music scene performing at all-ages venues and homegrown house parties as well as in traditional press coverage such as print magazines including Los Angeles Magazine, CBS News Los Angeles, Vogue and Town & Country. This combination of new and old media attention connected them to first-generation riot grrrl band Bratmobile who reposted their cover of “Gimme Brains” to their Instagram page and shortly afterward invited the girls to come on stage at The Belasco in Los Angeles to sing on the tune in front of the fans at a sold-out show on July 18, 2025. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience for the girls.
Active on social media, the girls of Kim Theory love playing music and getting to watch other bands play.
