LOS ANGELES, CA – February 29, 2024– Today Nomark release The Metropole Remixes Vol.2, the second album this month featuring 10 more unique versions of the original.
Volume 2 is full of ambitious experiments.
Pienie’s epic take, imbuing Metropole with a delicious grandeur is the opener followed by Bart Thissen’s version which shimmers blissfully while Herzihelmut’s Remix2 delights with a deconstructionist flavor.
The Envelope Man Remix is beautifully disconcerting with siren voices occasionally breaking through, and Tricil’s Remix bursts with intense industrial energy and Moroder-like precision.
This album makes you wonder at just how much invention can be inspired by one song.
Batavia’s Tears delivers an infectious groove with the layering of rhythms before Broken Spectre confounds us further with a Radiohead-like intro which develops into a rhythm filled feast. The uncompromising and relentless YFN remix is peak rave complete with a euphoric bridge before the arms to the heavens climax.
And then, just like that, another change of mood. Glitchkase gives Metropole an additional layer of sparkling malevolence and the Cooked Turkey Remix finishes this astonishing album with a mix which is both abstract and playful.

The Metropole Remix Project started on the Nomark Discord channel. It was just an idea in amongst the chatter; to see if anyone was interested in remixing Metropole, one of the otherworldly love songs on Tobin’s Stone Giants West Coast Love Stories album.
As Amon says “Towards the end of last year we opened up stems on my discord for anyone to remix metropole. We ended up with over 60 reinterpretations from pros and amateurs alike. We had so much talent rise up out of nowhere for this that we decided to compile and release a selection of the mixes officially.”
This release is an opportunity for Nomark to introduce a whole cohort of new talents and artists to those who eschew the algorithms and seek more interesting sounds.
