(MONDAY SEPTEMBER 8, 2014) – The Mojo Gurus (www.mojogurus.com) announced two Florida shows today in celebration of their new record, Who Asked Ya?, out on September 16 via Red River Entertainment with distribution through Sony/RED.   Riding high on praise from local radio stations to international rock magazines, The Mojo Gurus reputation as a fearsome rock ‘n roll band is set to hit the Tampa Bay area with a vengeance. Case in point of the bands popularity, the Tampa public radio station WMNF presented the bands record release show on August 30 and have been spinning their new CD on It’s The Music and The Traffic Jam where it was the CD of the Week on both shows. Creative Loafing Tampa said  the new record  is “….13 tracks of jet fuel-powered blues-rooted rock n’ roll seasoned in roots, funk and ‘60s hues.” Across the pond, just this week in fact, Britain’s iconic Classic Rock magazine said, “Who Asked Ya? is a fistful of full-throttle rock ‘n’ roll of the type Jack Douglas (who the band have worked with in the past) used to make with Aerosmith. The album was recorded at Pro Star Studios in St. Petersburg, FL and mastered by Stephen Marsh (Jeff Beck, Muddy Waters, Ben Harper) at Marsh Mastering in Hollywood, CA. The record features 13 songs, all of which were written by vocalist Kevin Steele.  The Mojo Gurus have released three critically acclaimed records through E1 Music, worked with Grammy Award winning producer Jack Douglas (John Lennon, Aerosmith, New York Dolls), played with the likes of Joe Perry, Johnny Winter, Blackberry Smoke, David Allan Coe and built their reputation on their live performances.
