Animated Video from Provoke Film is First of Three Under the Banner What Happened to Stephanie?, a Triptych Video Painting That Tells the Story of Two Women Along with their Male Companions in the Summer of Occupy Wall Street

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

LOS ANGELES, CA (MONDAY JULY 20, 2020)Strictly Elizabeth and online entertainment magazine MXDWN announced today the premiere of the band’s new animated video “Oscillation Friday” from the debut album Shelter in Place is out now.

The video is actually a video-painting triptych under the title What Happened to Stephanie?, which is the first of three videos that tells the story of two women, Elizabeth and Stephanie along with their male companions Zee and Hayden. The story takes place in lower Manhattan in the summer of the Occupy Wall Street movement, after 9/11 and before COVID 19. In Part I (“Oscillation Friday,” premiering on MXDWN today from Provoke Films) we are introduced to the four characters at Happy Hour. Part II, (“Baby C’Mon”) which is currently in production, questions the joys and dangers of connecting with someone new at a club, a juxtaposition of elation from love found on the dance floor and violence in the face of rejection. Part III, (“Seduction Trash”) explores the aftermath of sudden love, and the human tendency to reenact unresolved traumas.

“Working with Jessica Davenport from Strictly Elizabeth on the video for “Oscillation Friday” was a great experience,” said Ciro Ayala of the award-winning film entertainment studios, Provoke Films. “She was very clear on the story she wanted to tell, how to tell it, and the personalities of each animated character. Her collaboration helped us a lot to define and design the environments, props, characters, and camera movements. Everything that you see has a deep meaning that will unfold in the upcoming music videos”

Shelter in Place is co-Produced and engineered by musical collaborator Chris Hughes at Airship Laboratories in Richmond, Ca. & mixed and mastered by Paul Kolderie (Pixies, Radiohead, Warren Zevon). It is a vibrant mix of dreamy pop lullabies, indie rock guitars, lyrical angst and plaintive vocals which is the result of professional triumphs, personal tragedies and hitting pause on ambition to further her career as an architect to concentrate on her lifelong passion in music. In fact, with the pause button fully reset, Davenport’s become an integrated artist working in multiple mediums with a growing network of collaborations in film, art, architecture and music.
